Blood Calling is a quest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

Journal[]

Amiri's last encounter with her tribe ended in bloodshed and scandal. She pretended for a long time that she had no interest in news about her friend Nilak, but as soon as we got word that the Six Bears tribe was attacking Brevoy together with the Tiger Lords, Amiri surged to their rescue. We should look after the quick-tempered barbarian, so she doesn't mess things up again!
Help Amiri discover Nilak's fate +480xp Obj_1_SaveNilak (ec0b96521dbbc6b4a8011af64d42491f)
Ignoring all orders and pleas, Amiri ran off to the Glenebon Uplands, where a battle between the barbarian horde and the Brevic army was about to begin. We need to find her – the sooner the better – before something happens that cannot be undone…
Meet Nilak at the Six Bears' camp +1600xp Obj_2_MeetTribe (dec57ab7eae8b694abd637e19fc4d048)
Victory! The Tiger Lords are returning to Numeria, Armag has disappeared (though I doubt we've seen the last of that scoundrel), and most importantly – Nilak is safe and sound! She asked Amiri to visit her at the new Six Bears' camp. I hope this meeting will end more happily than the last one...

We ignored our companion's request for far too long — and now it is too late. Oh well, that's just too bad.
How about that! Looks like you can teach an old bear new tricks after all! For the first time in history, Amiri's tribe chose a woman to be their chief – and not just any woman, but our friend Nilak. Amiri made peace with her friend, and the latter led her tribe to Numeria. A happy ending? It would seem so! But for some reason I can't stop thinking that we'll be hearing again from Nilak and the Six Bears – and the mysterious ghost that follows them!

Walkthrough[]

  • Contrary to popular belief it doesn't matter if you do Hour of Rage or Betrayer's Flight first. The success of completing this quest completely depends on your performance during Amiri solo stealth/rebellion segment.
  • When you arrive in Flintrock Grassland you get to talk with Gwart. Before proceeding with Hour of Rage part you have to do Amiri's quest first in two possible ways:
    1. Chaotic-only to incite a rebellion.
    2. Agree on the stealth mission.

Rebellion[]

  • If you take the rebellion part - it's recommended to do it in real-time mode, otherwise the barbarian archers may take down your health before you could do anything.
  • Several friendly NPC are immortal, so you could just let them do all the dirty work, without risking losing health.
  • This segment ends with approaching the Defaced Sister (Flintrock Grassland) to the west. Amiri butchers the sister, after that Armag comes and duel starts.

Stealth[]

  • If you do the stealth approach, then Amiri appears on the camp entrance.
    • Do not go west, as there is patrolling Defaced Sister, getting close to her ruins the quest.
    • Go east and talk with Old Barbarian, if you do not tell him that you are from Six Bears tribe you will have to pass Diplomacy DC 25 +180xp or Intimidate DC 17 +28xp checks, otherwise you get captured. Exhaust his dialogue, it's important for the talk ahead.
    • After you done talking next to the Old Barbarian there are fences next to him (Perception DC 0), which can be pushed aside.
    • Go through the northern pathway and watch out for the Defaced Sister patrol, when she goes southwards quickly run to the west.
  • Keeping going west you will encounter another Defaced Sister, you will get Book Event (Defaced Sister).
    • Stage 1:
      1. ...tried to kill the Sister swiftly, hoping no one in the camp would notice her. gives you +360xp and fails the quest.
      2. ...turned away and pretended to mend a tent. advances to next stage
      3. Bluff DC 31 ...walked by calmly, hoping the Sister wouldn't recognize her after all. +960xp and extra +360xp to advance to next stage, failure results in failing the quest.
      4. Athletics DC 22 ...darted down a side passage, hoping to avoid the Sister's notice. +67xp and extra +360xp to advance to next stage, failure results in failing the quest.
    • Stage 2:
      1. Hoping no one in the camp would notice, Amiri attacked the Sister from behind. gives you +360xp and fails the quest.
      2. Bluff DC 32 Trying to look busy, Amiri followed the Sister, hoping the guards wouldn't question her. +1440xp and extra +360xp, both success and failure moves you next to Armag's tent where Nilak is. No exp reward for failure.
      3. Hoping to overhear something interesting, Amiri followed the Sister unnoticed. ends the book event. Amiri stays where she is.
      4. Waiting for the Sister to move out of sight, Amiri then continued to move forward. ends the book event. Amiri stays where she is.
  • You have to get to Armag's tent now.
    • In the south part you can push aside another fence barricade, you will have to kill five Ferocious Wolf there.
    • If you used second [Bluff] check in the Book Event then you will appear at Armag's tent right away. But going directly back will get you caught. You can make a roundabout way by pushing the fence with wolves from the other side so you could approach guards in normal way for extra experience.
    • Approaching the guards:
      1. "What makes you think I'm not allowed? For all you know, I got permission from Armag himself!" and follow-up lines will let you pass without checks, but you must have talked with Old Barbarian before.
      2. Diplomacy DC 30 +720xp, Diplomacy DC 18 +33xp and Intimidate DC 17 +28xp lets you pass, but failure results in failed quest.
      3. Bluff DC 31 +960xp can be failed without repercussions.
      4. [Attack] fails the quest.
  • After you finally got to the Armag's tent, all that left is to butcher the last Defaced Sister and duel with Armag. No matter if you win or lose the duel you will get captured, "Challenge Armag" objective of Hour of Rage will ALWAYS fail. Proceed with the main party segment if Hour of Rage.

Help Amiri discover Nilak's fate[]

  • This part is completed when your main party reaches Armag's tent during Hour of Rage segment and talks to Gwart.

Meet Nilak at the Six Bears' camp[]

  • Go to Six Bears Camp (New Location) and approach the barbarians.
  • After the short dialogue you will auto-exit the location.
    • You can make a (Neutral Good) alignment choice for a price of 1000. The rest of dialogue is trivia.
