For many years Ekundayo worked as a guard for merchant caravans traveling across northern Avistan. During this period he became friends with Ntavi.
Ekundayo traveled through the Stolen Lands often, spending nights in a village called Bristlehill, where he became acquainted with a local woman named Amanda. Eventually, he decided to leave the traveling life behind to marry Amanda and became a resident of the village. Ekundayo and Amanda had a daughter named Clarissa, and Ekundayo took up a trade as a carpenter.
Some time prior to the beginning of Troll Trouble Bristlehill was attacked but a group of trolls led by Kargadd. Kargadd brutally killed Amanda and Clarissa. Ekundayo was the only survivor of the attack. He began tracking Kargadd in order to take revenge on the rock troll for destroying his life.
Interactions[]
Ekundayo is one of the three new companions to recruit in the second chapter. You meet him at a Ruined Watchtowerafter the Troll Trouble events start and can invite him to join your party right away (ambush trolls as he wants or ignore it, doesn't matter). Later he can be found to the south of the capital square's merchants. Ekundayo is the only companion who can leave you due to disagreement, so be wary of his hatred towards trolls.
Camping[]
Camping Special Role
Wilderness Survival: Ekundayo gathers mushrooms, roots, berries and other edibles, decreasing ration consumption by 2.
Favorite Meal
Hunter's Roast: +3 bonus to Lore (Nature) checks for one day.
Owlbear Omelet: +5 bonus to Lore (Nature) checks for one day.
Hearty Purple Soup: +7 bonus to Perception skill checks and +1 bonus on damage rolls for one day.
Once it's open, Ekundayo can be selected to fill the position of Warden (Stability) or Minister (Espionage). He doesn't offer anything really unique as an advisor.
Role in the party[]
Ekundayo is a model ranger with archery/longbow specialization. There's a very decent choice of composite longbows throughout the game, and rangers have a lot of attacks and good ways to mitigate DR, so Ekundayo can as like as not become your best damage dealer, especially effective against casters and other ranged enemies. He also has enough skill points to help you cover some. His spells are mostly self-buffs though. Oh, and on top of all that Ekundayo has an animal companion (wolf named Dog) who can tank (with buffs from casters) as good as Valerie, do high damage and trip. And can not really die. Not bad to say the least. Besides that, Ekundayo is really silent (unless you discuss trolls).
(Note: although Ekundayo follows Torag, this won't prevent selecting another deity should the player wish to multiclass him as a Cleric/Inquisitor.)
