Base Features[]
An eldritch scoundrel gains most of the features of a rogue.
An eldritch scoundrel gains Knowledge (Arcana) as a class skill. Each level, an eldritch scoundrel only gains a number of skill ranks equal to 3 + 1/2 her Intelligence modifier.
Instead of a rogue's proficiencies, half of their Sneak Attack progression, half of their Rogue Talents, and their Uncanny Dodge and Improved Uncanny Dodge class features, an eldritch scoundrel gains the following features.
![]() |
Proficiencies |
Rogues are proficient with all simple weapons, plus the rapier, short sword, and shortbow. An eldritch scoundrel is not proficient with any armor or shields. Armor sometimes interferes with an eldritch scoundrel's gestures, which can cause her spells with somatic components to fail.
| |
Spellcasting | |
An eldritch scoundrel casts arcane spells drawn from the sorcerer/wizard spell list. An eldritch scoundrel must choose and prepare her spells ahead of time. An eldritch scoundrel uses her Intelligence score as her spellcasting modifier. An eldritch scoundrel can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Her base daily spell allotment is the same as the magus class. An eldritch scoundrel may know any number of spells. An eldritch scoundrel begins play knowing all 0-level wizard spells plus three 1st-level spells of her choice. The eldritch scoundrel also learns a number of additional 1st-level spells equal to her Intelligence modifier. At each new eldritch scoundrel level, she learns two new spells of any spell level or levels that she can cast (based on her new eldritch scoundrel level). At any time, an eldritch scoundrel can also learn new spells from scrolls.

![]() |
Cantrips |
Eldritch scoundrels can cast a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they are not expended when cast and may be used again.
| |
![]() |
Detect Magic |
Detects magical auras of active spells or artifacts (or of those that were active recently). Can identify the school of magic to which the spell belongs. Used in dialogues.
| |
![]() |
Sneak Attack |
The eldritch scoundrel doesn’t acquire the sneak attack class feature until 3rd level, when she gains a +1d6 sneak attack. This increases by 1d6 at 7th level, and again at every 4 rogue levels thereafter.
| |
![]() |
Rogue Talents |
As an eldritch scoundrel gains experience, she learns a number of talents that aid her and confound her foes. Starting at 4th level, an eldritch scoundrel gains one rogue talent. She gains an additional rogue talent for every 4 levels of eldritch scoundrel attained after 4th level. An eldritch scoundrel cannot select an individual talent more than once.
