Base Features[]
![]() |
Mind Games |
At 1st level, an inciter learns to recognize when his own mind is being manipulated. He gains a +1 bonus on saving throws against mind-affecting, compulsion, fear, and emotion effects. This bonus increases by 1 every 6 levels thereafter, up to a maximum of +4 at 19th level.
| |
![]() |
Insult |
At 1st level, an inciter subjects any enemy entering his raging song area to insults and ridicule. The target must pass a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the inciter's level + his Charisma modifier) to negate the effect. If a creature's saving throw fails, the creature becomes angry and seeks to harm the inciter. While the inciter maintains his raging song ability, the target takes a -2 penalty on all attack rolls and skill checks until it makes a successful melee or ranged attack against the inciter or inflicts damage to him with a spell. The inciter cannot attempt to insult that creature again for 24 hours. This is a sonic mind-affecting emotion effect.
| |
![]() |
Serpent's Tongue |
An inciter adds 1/2 his skald level (minimum 1) on Persuasion skill checks when used to intimidate or bluff.
| |
Skald Talent | |
As an inciter gains experience, he learns a number of talents that aid him and confound his foes. At 4th level, an inciter gains a rogue talent, as the rogue class feature of the same name. At 9th level and every 5 levels thereafter, the inciter gains an additional rogue talent. ed: Inciter can choose talent that modifies sneak attack
| |
![]() |
Prompted Backstabbing |
At 8th level, an inciter guides his allies by calling their attention to his enemies' weak points. All creatures under the effect of the inciter's inspired rage ability can now make sneak attacks, as the rogue ability of the same name, dealing an additional 1d6 points of damage. This additional damage stacks with other sources of precision damage, but the total number of sneak attack dice cannot exceed half their character level (rounded up). The damage increases by 1d6 every 5 levels thereafter up to a maximum of 3d6 at 18th level.
| |
![]() |
Caustic Ridicule |
At 10th level, an inciter learns to hold the attention of those offended by his taunts. Enemies that fail a Will save against his insult ability are unable to focus on their defense and suffer an additional -1 penalty to AC and all Will saving throws. At 15th level, this penalty increases to -2.
| |
![]() |
Sneaky Tricks |
At 12th level, if the inciter has a talent that requires the ability to make sneak attacks, all allies affected by his inspired rage ability gain the benefits of this talent as well. In addition, the inciter can now choose one of the advanced rogue talents that modify the sneak attack ability in place of a rogue talent.
| |
![]() |
Hit a Nerve |
At 20th level, an inciter becomes capable of touching the nerves of even the calmest and most balanced creatures, thereby inspiring his allies. His inspired rage ability no longer gives allies a penalty to AC or limits what abilities they can use. In addition, even if enemies succeed at a Will saving throw against the inciter's abilities, they still suffer half the penalties.
