Mantis Zealot is an Archetype of the Warpriest class in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

Description[]

The arrival of the mantis zealot does not bode well for both offenders and innocents, for his true goals are known only to his deity.

Proficiencies

Mantis zealots are proficient with simple and martial weapons, as well as with the Sawtooth Saber. They are proficient with light armor but not with shields.




Saber Fighting

At 1st level, a mantis zealot gains Weapon Focus (Sawtooth Saber) as a bonus feat.

At 4th level, he gains Weapon Specialization (Sawtooth Saber) as a bonus feat.

At 8th level, he gains Greater Weapon Focus (Sawtooth Saber) as a bonus feat.

At 12th level, he gains Greater Weapon Specialization (Sawtooth Saber) as a bonus feat.




Red Shroud

At 1st level, as a move action, a mantis zealot can create a red shroud filled with hundreds of flying mantises. The red shroud grants him a +1 dodge bonus to AC and fast healing equal to his base attack bonus (minimum 1). The bonus to AC increases by 1 for every four levels, up to a maximum of +6 at 20th level.

He can use this ability for a number of minutes per day equal to his Dexterity modifier (minimum once per day). The duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments.

At 7th level, the mantis zealot can create the red shroud as a swift action.

At 13th level, the mantis zealot can create the red shroud as a free action.




Deadly Fascination

At 3rd level, a mantis zealot's deadly motions become fascinating. Whenever he kills an enemy with a sawtooth saber, other enemies in a 30-foot radius are fascinated unless they succeed at a Will save (DC 10 + half the mantis zealot's class level + his Dexterity modifier; if he is wielding two sawtooth sabers, the DC increases by 2; if the red shroud is activated, the DC is increased by an additional 2). The fascination is a mind-affecting effect. The affected enemies can attempt a new save to escape this fascination each time they take damage.




Mantis Swarm

At 4th level, whenever a mantis zealot uses the red shroud, he can mentally direct the actions of the mantis swarm surrounding him. Each enemy in a 5-foot area must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw. On a failed save, the attacks of the flying mantises make them bleed for 1d6 damage each round at the start of the mantis zealot's turn. Multiple applications of this effect stack, but the target can attempt a saving throw each round to stop the bleeding. Bleeding can also be stopped through the application of any effect that cures hit point damage. The DC of the saving throw is equal to 10 + half the mantis zealot's class level + his Wisdom modifier.

The mantis zealot deals an additional 1d6 damage with sawtooth sabers against bleeding enemies.

At 11th and 18th levels, this damage increases by 1d6.





Fading

At 7th level, whenever a mantis zealot uses the red shroud, he becomes partially ethereal. This grants the mantis zealot a 20% chance to avoid an attack or targeted spell.

At 10th level and every 3 levels thereafter, this bonus increases by 10%.




Aspect of the Mantis

At 20th level, once per day as a swift action, a mantis zealot can invoke the power of the Mantis God. He can treat his level as his base attack bonus and gains DR 10/good and a 2d6 bite attack with his mandibles. Whenever he deals damage with a bite attack, he also inflicts 1 negative level.

When using aspect of the mantis, the mantis zealot deals bleed damage equal to his Dexterity modifier on attacks made with sawtooth sabers, and whenever he kills a creature with a sawtooth saber, as a free action, he can appear near an enemy within 30 feet of him and make a single attack against that enemy.

In addition, the blessings the mantis zealot calls upon don't count against his daily limit during this time. This ability lasts for 1 minute.
