Regongar is a companion in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. He is a chaotic evil half-orc Eldritch Scion (magus) with Draconic bloodline.
Biography[ | ]
Born to an orc mother and non-orc father in one of the Kellid tribes of Numeria, Regongar remembers little about his past before he was sold into slavery. He does remember some details - such as having a brother who was not sold with him - and this has left him with a deep resentment for his roots. For this reason he chooses to refer to himself as an orphan and values his relationship with his lover Octavia, whom he grew up with while they were both enslaved, above all else.
Rather than study as a traditional wizard, Regongar uses his natural affinity for magic combined with weapon wielding in combat and is a gifted, if unpredictable, spellcaster. This made him an extremely valuable slave to the Technic League who claimed he had blue dragon's blood and continued training him in the arts of combat despite the risk of his rebellion. Now Regongar is an escapee from Numeria, together with Octavia.
Interactions[ | ]
Regongar is one of the three new companions to recruit in the first chapter. You meet him and Octavia tied up at the Technic League Encampment during the Hand of the Technic League quest. He can join your party after the battle (together with Octavia). Since the beginning of chapter 2 he chills in the company of Octavia to the north of the capital square's merchants. Can be romanced alone or together with Octavia. Completing his personal quests can shift his alignment.

Position in court[ | ]
Regongar can be appointed to the court position of General (Military) or Warden (Stability). As General he will advocate strongly using the arcane magic for war (obviously).
Role in the party[ | ]
Magus is a really powerful martial class with great and versatile attack bonuses due to Magus Arcana and Arcane/Eldritch Pool enhancements. Spell Combat with Spellstrike adds one more attack per round (magus can use Touch of Fatigue cantrip all day long), though at higher levels this becomes irrelevant (more profits from ordinary full attacks with crits). As an Eldritch Scion with Draconic bloodline, Regongar can take 4 levels of Dragon Disciple to further improve his combat abilities, though at high cost (+4 Strength (+2 AB), +2 AC, +1 bite attack (no need to grow claws for this due to the game implementation), 1 breath weapon use, 1 Bloodline bonus feat instead of 1 Magus bonus feat, -1 CL, -4 Magus levels, -1 Magus Arcana, no Arcane Weapon +5, no Greater Spell Combat, no True Magus, Greater Spell Access delayed to level 20). All in all, Regongar is one of the best damage dealers in the party with his highly optimized (if a bit cheated) stats and very decent defensive abilities in the end (due to bloodline and Arcane Heavy Armor). You can use his "default" scimitars (great choice of blades) or take something bigger with maximum critical range (he can stick keen trait to any weapon since level 5). Also Regongar is a great intimidator, good buffer and the best guy to pull Athletics skill checks. Little can be done to stop Regongar at his peak. Nothing can be done to stop his puns.
