Studied Target[]

Checked various sources of information, but still don't get it.

  1. Do I need to apply the skill before each hit or once per target? Being able to make this skill autocast and being able to improve to cast while performing a swift action gave me a bad idea about the mechanics of this skill.
  2. If the Slayer can study target on a sneak attack, does that sneak attack counted as an attack on studied target, or only the next one?

  1. Once per target. Studying target as a swift action means you get full attacks every round with studied target bonuses (unless you kill monsters too fast and attack more than 1 new enemy in round). Setting this as an “autocast” is not always a good idea though (definitely not until you are level 7), because it will “cast” Study Target in the beginning of every round to study an already studied target you attack. Then, if you kill the monster with first of your several iterative attacks in round, you have to attack adjacent monster without studied target bonuses till the end of the round, since you can use swift (or move) action once per round only.
  2. It has to be the next one (though I’m not 100% sure about the game implementation). You can always check this in combat log, it’s really good.
