The Door to Nowhere is a quest in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

Synopsis[ | ]

Jubilost is close to solving the riddle of the Host! If the fey weren't lying, the Host will help solve the mystery of the gnomes leaving the First World. Our learned friend can't do it without the {King/Queen}'s help!
Bring Willas Gunderson's book to Jubilost +1440xp 01_FindBook (fd030e7262d0eb94e8780db7a9b83193)
The Host' riddle says that we need to find something 'fifth in ten', which would supposedly be easy if we read Willas Gunderson — the poor adventure hunter who released Vordakai. Willas is the author of several books, and the answer is probably related to this. We'll look in the city — somebody must have a book or two.
Discuss the discovery with Jubilost +1440xp 02_TalkToJubilost (efe8eda9af0f8c2439ecc0b478cd52b8)
It looks like it was about the book 'Valor and Honor: Ten Adventures of the Splendid Willas Gunderson in Absalom'. The fifth adventure is called 'In the Corner of the Tavern'. What could this mean? We should discuss this with Jubilost!
Meet Jubilost at the tavern on the twenty fourth +2160xp 03_TwentyFour (9ba2015f2d551174694998dc9440407a)
We seem to have solved the riddle! It pointed at a place — the tavern — and at a date — the twenty fourth of each month. On the next twenty fourth Jubilost will be waiting for the {King/Queen} in the tavern to decide what to do next!
  • Ha! The {King/Queen} solved the riddle: it was about a girl named Luna who appeared in a corner of the tavern on the twenty fourth of every month! We need to tell Jubilost soon!

Explore the Mysterious Cave from Luna's Map +7200xp 04_ExploreDungeon (6b695bb3ecd181b46983f64e038713ba)
A girl named Luna gave us a map, where an entrance to some cave is marked. It looks like the riddle has led us there! Well — let's go! On to new discoveries!

Solving a thousand-year-old mystery didn't help Jubilost rid all the gnomes of Bleaching. But our grumpy friend learned a lot — and even got a gift from a real Eldest! Well, sometimes fate grants us such adventures — sad, inspiring and educational all at once!

Walkthrough[ | ]

  • During the initial dialogue you can pass hidden Intelligence DC 16 check to unlock an additional line of dialogue, but that is just trivia.
  • You can refuse to help Jubilost, but that just fails the quest.

Bring Willas Gunderson's book to Jubilost[ | ]

Discuss the discovery with Jubilost[ | ]

  • Talk to Jubilost about the book. He will tell you to wait until 24th.
    • If it's 24th day of the month already then you will get ported to The Beer Mug Inn automatically.

Meet Jubilost at the tavern on the twenty fourth[ | ]

  • Talk to Jubilost and Luna in the tavern. You have to persuade her to follow her dreams, you can do that via:
    1. Persuasion DC 35 check +3840xp.
    2. (Chaotic Good) Give away 3000Coin.

Explore the Mysterious Cave from Luna's Map[ | ]

  • Go to Cave from Luna's Map
  • Talk to Xae
    • Attempting to attack and refusing to listen will fail the quest.
    • All other dialogue choices will lead to fight with two Ghostly Guards.
  • After the short fight you can try to convince Jubilost to accept The Host's gift of First World connection.
    • For Jubilost to accept the gift you should have chosen (Neutral) or (Neutral Evil) response in The Price of Curiosity resolution dialogue.
      • Select (Chaotic Neutral) "Don't refuse. Principles are principles, but this is an incredibly rare gift. It would be good for you, and for all of us, especially since we're so often at war with the First World."
      • Select "I think you're rejecting this gift as a way to show off your nobility."
      • Jubilost gains First World Connection (The character has gained a special connection to the First World. Once per day, if the character dies in the First World, or a location directly linked to it, he or she is immediately resurrected with half of their HP restored.)
      • It also results in "First World" Ending Slide for Jubilost.
    • For Jubilost to reject the gift use (Lawful Good) or (Neutral) choices, or (Chaotic Neutral) and then "This is one of the most important decisions in your life. Do what you think is right." (if allowed)

Trivia[ | ]

  • This quest is a rare case when Persuasion check is used as itself, and not Diplomacy/Bluff/Intimidate subcategory.
