Synopsis[]

| We did it! Jhod found the source of the infection — it was a strange seed in the patient's stomach — and pulled it out before some monster hatched out of it. We still had to deal with the monster, though — the seed opened a portal, and a beast jumped out of it and started rampaging around the hospital! | ||

Jhod managed to find the source of infection — a strange seed inside her stomach. Before he had a chance to examine it, the seed opened a portal and an ugly monster jumped out! | ||

Walkthrough[]
Visit Kavken's field hospital in the capital[]
- Right after your envoy gives you Mother of Monsters quest, Jhod Kavken will request you to participate in vivisection of Madla Stasek in the Old Prison. You can't reject the request. But you can invite Bartholomew Delgado as long as he has been convinced to remain in the barony.
- You will be teleported to Old Prison without your party.
Participate in the surgery[]
- Telling Jhod to begin the vivisection starts a Book Event (The Seed of Sorrow).
- First you will have to decide how to operate.
- Siding with Jhod will give harder skill checks. But the experience reward is much higher.
- Siding with Tristian or asking Bartholomew for help give easier skill checks.
- (Chaotic Neutral) Going for a coin toss gives a random result.
- Then you are given an array skill checks, passing any of them results in Madla Stasek surviving the operation. Otherwise she dies.
- Athletics DC 28/17 +360xp/+28xp
- Mobility DC 27/18 +360xp/+33xp
- Lore (Nature) DC 26/19 +240xp/+45xp
- Diplomacy DC 25/20 +180xp/+45xp
- (Neutral Evil) Kill Madla without a skill check.
- First you will have to decide how to operate.
Kill the monster[]
- After the book event you have to fight Ferocious Owlbear, fortunately it is affected by permanent Nauseated and Staggered debuffs.
- This completes the quest. Now you can leave the prison.
- Oddly enough, you gain 300 more experience from final objective if Madla died. But siding with Jhod and passing [Athletics] or [Mobility] skill check nets more experience total.
- Whether Madla survived or died will affect the Persuasion checks in Unrest in the Streets event.
