Trickery is an one of the skills available in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

Description[]

This skill represents character's talent to perform tasks that require fine manipulation.

You apply your character's Trickery skill to checks required for:

  • Conceal objects on your body.
  • Disarm traps or devices.
  • Open locks.

Trickery checks are effected by a character's Dexterity modifier.

Uses[]

  • Occasionally used during book events, such as the trapped room in Vordakai's Tomb.
  • Used to unlock locked containers or doors.
    • If a party member fails to pick a lock, they can't try again until they gain another rank in Trickery. Temporary increases from items or spells don't count. For this reason, it can be useful to have multiple party members trained in Trickery.
    • There are a few chests in Oleg's Trading Post and Tuskdale that can only be opened by the main character.
  • Used to disarm traps.
    • Failing a check by 5 or more will trigger the trap.
    • Failed checks that don't trigger the trap can be retried.
