Varnhold's Lot is a DLC in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.
Description[]
The DLC follows the path of Baron Maegar Varn and his Varnling Host after he is awarded his barony alongside the baron{ess} from the main game.
The choices made by the main character in the game can be imported into a new play of Varnhold's Lot, and the choices made during the DLC can be imported back into the main game during The Varnhold Vanishing chapter.
Timeline[]
The best time to complete this DLC is after you have completed the main events of Season of Bloom and before the The Varnhold Vanishing events.
To start the DLC you have to select new game and choose the Varnhold's Lot scenario. You can then select a save file of your main game to import in the DLC. After completing the DLC, and continuing your main game, you will be asked if you want to import a save file of the DLC in your main game. Some of the choices and gear will have effects on your main game.
Characters[]
The player is allowed to pick from several pregenerated characters for their PC, or create their own and raise them to level 5 (all characters in the party will have enough experience to get to level 6 after the first battle or even before it). Initially, the party will consist of the PC, Maegar Varn, and Cephal Lorentus, but quickly you will be instructed to recruit up to 3 mercenaries to form a party. The player can either choose 3 premade characters (Bruiser, Tehara and Gekkor) or create their own custom characters. It should be noted that playing with the premade characters is discouraging for a variety of reasons, and that choosing the premade characters will not add any story aspects, such as character dialogues.
If your main character has high Persuasion skill and you don't use mercs (so you play the campaign with your main character (General), Maegar and Cephal) you can enable options "Only active companions receive experience" and "Only skill user receives skill check experience" in game settings to get General to level 12 at the very end of the campaign. With full party and even experience distribution your party will get to level 9 by the end of campaign.
